I might have to find this book - the title is just too cool.

Stereopsis utilities

stereopsis
This is the home page for scrapture and vjpeg and a few other apps that look cool (like fonticate and GlassAmp), but not really on my radar right now. The author also has a nice page of recommended software, something I should do as well.
Scrapture is an 84k executable that captures either the focused window (alt-shift-4) or the whole screen (alt-shift-3) and dumps it as a BMP file to a folder called "scraps" on the Desktop.
Vjpeg is a tiny image viewer that loads really fast. It will view JPG, GIF, PSD and BMP files. Note: I applied this as the image viewer for those file types in Total Commander, it works great!

Links to small-but-useful utilities like:
Purrint - a teeny (85k) print screen app that works the way Windows always should have. After pushing print screen, you get a simple preview where you can save to file (png, bmp, jpeg), print to printer, or just copy to the clipboard.
ArsClip - a free multi-clipboard extension.
ToPNG - a command-line utility to convert images between many formats. Usage: "for %a in (*.bmp) do topng %a jpg" will convert all the bmp's in a directory into jpgs.
HoeKey is a teeny (12k) program to assign hotkeys to do most anything. Win-N to run notepad, Win-G to google search on current highlighted word, etc etc. It's configurable with a simple .ini file.

And more - I'll be checking back once in a while to see what's new...
